In the article, we will tell you how to connect a dishwasher with your own hands, what tools will be needed for work. After all, before you pull out the shiny dishes from the hopper, you need to correctly install the technique.
Self-organization of work
Dishwashers can be compact (desktop), built-in and freestanding. All free-standing models (compact and full-size) are connected the same way. For embedded PMMs, the only difference is the installation method. The machine is placed in a cabinet or niche, additionally attached to the walls.
Equipment just delivered to your home? Shake the packaging slightly to find out the safety of the machine. There should not clatter, creak, roll.
When connecting dishwashers Siemens, Hansa, Indesit, first of all look at the instructions. Consider a place to install in the kitchen. If you did not foresee a cabinet for equipment in the headset, then choose a place near the sink.
Experts do not recommend lengthening the inlet and outlet hose. This puts a strain on the pump and increases the likelihood of leakage.
You can start preparing tools and parts.
Tools and accessories
What will be needed to connect to the water supply and sewage:
- The brass tee is considered the most reliable. It is desirable that a shut-off valve be attached to it. You can purchase a faucet separately.
- Siphon with two leads to connect a washer and dishwasher at the same time.
- Fum tape for sealing joints.
- Clamps to strengthen connected hoses.
- Gaskets.
From the tools:
- slotted and Phillips screwdrivers;
- wrench;
- nippers;
- level.
To supply electricity:
- moisture resistant outlet;
- Voltage regulator;
- difavtomat.
To install the fasteners you will need a drill and bolts.
You also need to consider some features of individual brands:
- Bosch has a sensitive inlet valve, so be sure to connect a flow filter.
- Siemens dishwashers are demanding on fixtures.
- "Electrolux" do not tolerate tilting to the side, even a few degrees.
How to connect the PMM? It is important to follow the sequence:
- First, the connection is made to the drain;
- then to the water supply;
- to the mains.
After that, a trial run is carried out. Then the built-in equipment is installed in place.
Drain organization
Start by installing a siphon. To connect the dishwasher and the washer together, connect a siphon with two leads. Once everything is ready, connect the end of the hose and the siphon nozzle. Secure the connection with a hose clamp.
Do not forget:
- Create a kink at the junction with the fitting. This will help prevent wastewater from returning to the hopper.
- Create a knee from below that helps to avoid unpleasant odors.
Important! The length of the drain hose should not exceed 1.5-2 meters.
Work with plumbing
Decide which water supply your machine model is connected to. It can be only cold or both hot and cold water supply.
The sequence of work:
- Shut off the water supply.
- Disconnect a mixer hose from a water supply system.
- Install a brass or bronze tee.
- Connect a mixer to one terminal.
- On the other output, install a flow filter and then a dishwasher hose.
- Seal the connections with a "bag", winding the tape 10-15 times along the thread.
Some users want to save electricity by connecting the PMM to hot water. But it can be dangerous. In addition, a hot stream is supplied with impurities of rust and small debris.
Models that are specially equipped for working with hot water supply include a special hose. It is resistant to high temperatures.
Network connection
In old houses, wiring and sockets are not prepared for the use of powerful equipment. Want to extend the life of your dishwasher? Then arrange the correct wiring. It is difficult to cope with such work yourself. It is better to contact a professional electrician.
What work needs to be done:
- dig a recess in the wall;
- lay a three-core copper wire;
- organize a moisture-proof European-type outlet with grounding;
- make a connection through a difavtomat.
Very carefully you need to act when connecting the cooker dishwasher and oven. Some have dishwashers built in under the hob.
Prohibited:
- Connect equipment through tees, carrying, extension cords.
- Position the outlet above 45 cm from the floor.
- Plug the PMM plug into one outlet with a stove.
It remains to start the test wash, and you can load the dishes. This video will help you to connect the PMM:
