Our review is about how to properly load dishes into the dishwasher.
The quality of the washing depends not only on the reliability of the equipment, the reasonably selected detergent and the salt that has been filled in time. How well the dishes will be washed depends on its location in the hopper.
Fact! The first download takes 20 minutes from users. When the bookmark becomes a habit, the procedure takes 2 times less time.
Preparing for Download
Before placing the dishes on the shelves and compartments of the PMM, clean them of food debris. The better you do this, the higher the likelihood of avoiding filter clogging and draining.
On a note! To brush away food leftovers from plates, use paper towels or napkins, a damp sponge or a rubber spatula - as convenient. Make sure that there are no eggshells, fruit seeds, grains - these are enemies of the drain system and provocateurs of blockages.
Not sure whether to rinse the dishes before loading them into the PMM? After rinsing, the washing quality improves. But the owners of the equipment justifiably ask themselves the question - why then do you need a machine, if you need to wash your hands. Therefore, there are models with the “Soak” or “Pre-wash” function. If there is no such option, you will have to soak the plates.
How to place cups, glasses and glasses
Glasses, mugs, cups and glasses need to get rid of tea, coffee, wine and other plaque. For fragile containers, a separate tray is provided located on top of the hopper. Put them ONLY upside down - so the water will fall inside, and then drain down. Do not stack glasses or mugs (porcelain, crystal, glass) in a horizontal position, otherwise the effect of washing will be zero.
Is it possible to put the glasses close so that they touch? Definitely not: wine glasses and glasses need to be fixed with a special mount - holder. Without it, fragile products, even on a delicate program, can burst or break. Wine glass holders can also be used for small cups.
On a note! When pushing the tray in, check how securely everything is fixed and placed. Use fasteners and other accessories if necessary.
How to lay plates according to the rules
Depending on the size of the plates and their purpose, they can be located in one of the trays - above or below. If the volumes of your Bosch, Hansa, Electrolux dishwasher allow, you can place everything: bowls, sauces, salt shakers, etc.
When choosing a low temperature mode, load plastic utensils — plates, trays, containers — onto the top shelf. So the "delicate" utensils will be away from the heater, and the plastic will not melt.
The lower tray is used to load large and medium plates, including soup. Place the widest plates with the edge, with a smaller diameter - closer to the center. This will provide 100% access to water at the very top of the hopper.
Place the dishes with their faces toward the center of the basket, making sure that gaps remain. The greater the distance, the more efficient the washing process.
Important! Do not load the compact machine “to the eyeballs”! If you manage to “shove” more than 5-6 declared sets, all this simply will not be washed off.
Cutlery: stack correctly
To load cutlery into the machine, locate a small tray or basket inside the hopper. When laying out spoons and forks, alternate them so that they do not combine into a single whole. Blades of knives should be directed strictly down.
In recent PMM models, such as Bosch or Siemens, the upper tray is highlighted for cutlery. In this compartment, the spoons need to be laid out horizontally: the appliances are washed efficiently, and space in the hopper is saved. In addition, the location of sharp instruments - knives and forks - in a horizontal position is most successful from the point of view of safety.
Important! Do not load sharp or ceramic knives into the PMM. So you risk blunting the blades. This also applies to knives and appliances with a wooden handle (you cannot wash any wooden utensils in a typewriter).
Layout of large dishes
Oversized kitchen utensils in which food is prepared (pans, pots, stewpan, baking trays, etc.) should be placed in the lowest basket. Wash them separately from glass, porcelain and crystal products: pots and trays require intensive washing, which fragile appliances will not tolerate.
Pans and trays
Put them sideways. Place the pots upside down or at a slight angle to allow access to water throughout the bunker. If you turn the pans upside down, then the water will not get into the upper tray, so follow the rules.
On a note! Is it possible to wash the pan in PMM (with Teflon or other coating), the manufacturer indicates. If the resolving icon is not found, do not take risks. Read about what you can’t do in a dishwasher, in a separate publication.
If there is a removable handle, disconnect it immediately. Place pans, ladles and stewpan with a handle especially carefully, without touching the tank walls or adjacent plates. If you see that the dishes are clearly not included in the hopper, wash them in parts. Use the half load mode if it is provided in the functionality of your PMM.
When placing baking sheets, try to place them sideways at the edges of the tray. If there is no special nozzle holder, follow the general layout rules so that the sprayer does not interfere with the water supply.
Small utensils: is it possible to wash and how
If you really want to wash a chopping board, a cooker, a slotted spoon or a spatula in the machine, this can be done - provided that there are no wooden parts. Plastic shovels, salad spoons, tongs, ice cream spoons and other things are not recommended to be sent to the machine (or put only on the very top, as we wrote above). Place all this with forks and spoons in a basket or tray.
Important! Place the devices only in a horizontal plane, even if special boxes are not provided for them or they do not fit into them.
Useful tips for proper loading
The capacity of the machine is indicated by the term "set of dishes." It usually includes the kit needed by one person for a single meal. At first glance, everything is simple. But machine manufacturers have standardized concepts about plates, cups, cutlery. Variety prevails in our kitchens - and often plates, cups and even spoons and forks are far from European standards.
The actual capacity of the PMM for 17 sets is 13-14. And given the need to wash pots and pans - even less.
In order for the optimal amount of dishes to enter the bunker and to wash it well, follow the recommendations:
- do not try to fill the dishwasher to the eyeballs, leave gaps;
- Look for badges that allow sending the product to the PMM;
- put large utensils away from fragile ones (pots away from glasses, etc.);
- do not wash the wood;
- put dirty dishes directly in the hopper - there they will not dry out and wash off more easily.
As you can see, the rules and guidelines for the location of dishes are not so complicated. A couple of trainings - and you will learn how to quickly and correctly arrange everything: - from glasses and saucers to baking trays and pans. If our review was useful to you, mark this in the comments.
